Imo State College of Nursing Sciences, Orlu came into existence in 2013 as a Department of General Nursing of the then Imo State College of Nursing & Health Sciences, Amaigbo.
Following an enabling law enacted by the Imo state House of Assembly, the state government in 2016 demerged and gave autonomy to this Department of Nursing into becoming Imo State College of Nursing Sciences, Orlu.
The College was granted full accreditation in 2018 by the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) for the award of Registered Nurse (RN) certificate to deserving students upon graduation.
